TOWSON, MD – First-year Natalie Kent (Media, PA) and sophomore Elliot Diehl (York, PA) have been named to the Goucher College Athletes of the Week following their performances last week.
Kent is being honored after throwing a distance of 33.26 meters in the discus throw during the Gophers opening meet of the 2017 season. The freshman thrower finished second in the discus and added a third-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.42 meters.
Kent was also named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week.
Kent and the Gophers are in action again on Saturday at home for the 16th Annual Goucher College Track & Field Classic.
Diehl earned athlete of the week honors while putting on a strong performance at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort for the men’s tennis spring break trip. Over the course of the week, Diehl boasted a 3-1 record in both singles and doubles play. The sophomore from York, PA was 1-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-1 at No. 4 singles. He also went 3-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Diehl and the Goucher College men’s tennis team takes on St. Mary’s (MD) and Oneonta State at home on March 25th.
