Athletic Department to Honor All-Goucher Team at Blue & Gold Weekend

TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College athletic department plans to honor the 2015-16 All-Goucher Team during Blue & Gold Weekend (Friday, April 28th to Saturday, April 29th) during halftime of the women's lacrosse game versus Moravian.

The event, that will occur at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th, will be held at Beldon Field at halftime and honor the 10 most distinguished student-athletes and most outstanding coach during the 2015-16 academic year. The following will be honored as members of the 2015-16 All-Goucher Team:

All-Goucher First Team:

Co-Captain Morgan Richter (Men's Swimming)-

  • Divison III All-American distinction with an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.
  • 2015-16 Male Swimmer of the Year in the Landmark Conference.
  • Four-time Landmark Conference 200-yard butterfly champion along with championships in the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard free. 

Co-Captain Cary Hundley (Equestrian)-

  • Finished 2015-16 as High Point Rider in Zone IV Region I and went on to place eighth overall in the Cacchione Cup at the 2016 IHSA National Horse Show.
  • Placed fourth in open equitation over fences at the 2016 IHSA National Horse Show.
  • 2015-16 Reserve Champion in open equitation over fences in IHSA Zone IV

Seth Hoesman (Men's Tennis)-

  • Broke the school record for most career singles victories in his four seasons at  Goucher with a 61-25 record in singles competition.
  • Set a new school record for highest winning percentage in singles matches in a season going 22-2 (.917) as a senior in 2015-16.
  • First team selection on the 2015-16 All-Landmark Conference men's tennis team for both singles and doubles.

Joey Caracappa (Men's Tennis)-

  • Named 2015-16 Men's Tennis Player of the Year in the Landmark Conference.
  • First-team selection on the 2015-16 All-Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Team in both singles and doubles.
  • Co-holder for the highest winning percentage in doubles matches (.786) in the history the of Goucher men's tennis program.

Kamillah Smith (Track & Field)-

  • 2016 Landmark Conference outdoor champion in the 100-meter dash and runner-up in the 200-meter dash.
  • Named to the 2016 Division III All-Mideast Region Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team by the USTFCCA
  • Posted a time of 12.20 in the 100-meter dash and 25.52 in the 200-meter dash. Both of which stand as Goucher College outdoor track & field records.

Brendan Kincaid (Men's Tennis) -

  • All-time winningest coach in the history of the Goucher's men's tennis program after guiding the Gophers to their first ever 20-win season in 2015-16.
  • Claimed the 2015-16 Landmark Conference title and defeated Yeshiva College, 5-2, in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
  • Head coaches in the Landmark Conference chose Kincaid and assistant Matt Bilger as 2015-16 Coaching Staff of the Year.

All-Goucher Second Team:

Jojo Franklin (Women's Lacrosse) -

  • Named second-team All-Chesapeake Region midfielder by the IWLCA after leading the Gophers with 38 goals, 48 draw controls, and caused 37 turnovers in 2016.
  • Two-time first team All-Landmark Conference midfielder in 2015 and 2016.

Jack Hodges (Men's Tennis)-

  • First-team selection on the 2015-16 All-Conference men's tennis team in both singles and doubles.
  • Has a .789 winning percentage in singles matches, a Goucher men's tennis record.
  • Became Goucher's first male tennis player to win 20 doubles matches in a season in 2015-16.

Sarah Lummis (Equestrian)-

  • Placed sixth in a walk-trot-canter equitation at the 2016 IHSA National Horse Show, earning one point for Goucher in the Collegiate Cup Hunter Seat Competition.
  • Claimed the blue ribbon in walk-trot-canter equitation during Goucher's first-place showing at the Winter Classic II, the final event in IHSA's 2015-16 Tournament of Champion Series.

Owen Demmerly (Men's Lacrosse)-

  • Second-team midfielder on the 2016 All-Landmark Conference men's lacrosse team.
  • Scored 30 goals for the Gophers and led the team with 29 assists to lead to a team-high 59 points.

Lizzie Barminski (Field Hockey)-

  • 2015 member of the All-Landmark First Team. She is the first Goucher Field Hockey Player to earn this honor since 2000. 
  • Had a team leading 12 goals and 28 points as a junior in 2015.
