Scipione Crosses Finish Line First in Mile Run

Goucher's 4 x 400-Meter Relay Team Places Second

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Goucher's Adam Scipione (Walpole, MA/Walpole) crossed the finish line in first place in the mile run today at the Hagerstown Community College Invitational.

The freshman completed the event in 4:52.77. He also placed third in the 800-meter run (2:17.03).

Goucher produced the runners-up in five events: Steven Tenure (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury) in the 400-meter run (:55.6) and 55-meter hurdles (:08.75c), Tade Ade-Turton (Ocean City, MD/Parkside) in the 55-meter dash (:07.05c) and 200-meter run (:24.85c), and the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:08.1).

Goucher's 4 x 400-meter relay was made up on Brendan Ference (Smallwood, NY/Monticello), Ade-Turton, Nicholas Stagno (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) and Tenure.

Ference placed third behind Tenure in the 55-meter hurdles (:10.05c).
