January 30, 2009
CARLISLE, Pa. – Goucher's Chris Litz (Bel Air,
Md./John Carroll) tied the indoor school record in the
pole vault with his effort of 13-feet today at the DuCharme
Invitational.
The sophomore placed fourth overall in the event.
Neither was a new school record, but the times Tade Ade-Turton (Ocean City, Md./Parkside) posted in the 200- and 400-meter runs were both among the all-time fastest in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program. The junior's time of :24.50 in the 200 ranks fourth all-time in program history and allowed Ade-Turton to finish in eighth place; he placed 10th in the 400 and his time of :55.75 is the third-fastest since the program began.
Goucher's 4 x 1600-meter relay consisting of Adam
Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole), Leon Davis
(Medfield, Mass./Medfield), Joe Negreann (Denver,
Colo./Cherry Creek) and Zachary Martin (Victor,
N.Y./Victor Central) finished in third place with its time
of 20:18.97.
