Goucher's 4 x 400 Relay Sets New School Record

Ade-Turton Completes 55 Dash in :06.73, Good for Sixth Place

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – All three relays that represented Goucher at today's Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships earned points with fifth-place finishes, but the 4 x 400-meter unit distinguished itself by also setting a new school record.

The quartet of Steven Tenure (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury), Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole), Tade Ade-Turton (Ocean City, Md./Parkside) and Charlie Rooney (Sea Bright, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) completed the 4 x 400 in 3:38.75, shaving 23-hundredths of a second off the former school record.

Goucher's times in the other two relays: 9:15.16 in the 4 x 800 meters and 11:26.44 in the distance medley.

The only individual event in which the Gophers scored a point today was the 55-meter dash thanks to a sixth-place performance by Ade-Turton. His time of :06.73 in the third-fastest in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program.

Ade-Turton also turned in the second-fastest time in program history in the 200-meter run as he completed the event in :24.23, good for ninth place.

Zachary Martin (Victor, N.Y./Victor Central) placed ninth in the 5,000 meters, but his time of 16:52.26 ranks as the third-fastest in program history.

With its total of seven points, Goucher finished in sixth place in the team standings. Susquehanna captured the 2009 Landmark Conference title with a team score of 206 points.
