Patte Zumbrun has held the position of Equestrian Director at Goucher College since 1987. She has developed one of the top varsity riding teams in the Mid-Atlantic region and offers a full-range of programs for the entire Goucher community.

Zumbrun, a 1976 graduate of Averett College in Virginia, is currently serving as the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone IV Region I President and chair of the Affiliated National Riding Commission (ANRC). She holds Level III Instructor's Certification from American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA), and in 1996 she earned an ANRC Number 5 rider rating.

Under Zumbrun's direction, Goucher's varsity riding program captured its first IHSA Zone IV Region I title in 2002-03 and regained the regional crown in 2004-05. In addition, Zumbrun led Goucher to a third-place finish at the ANRC National Intercollegiate Riding Championship twice in the past three years.

Since Zumbrun's arrival at Goucher, the school has built one of the region's premier indoor riding rings. The ring complements the adjacent outdoor riding ring and a top-rate jump field, all located on the Goucher campus.
