Yellow Jackets Pin Stinging 3-0 Setback on Gophers

Goucher Holds Advantage in Shots, Penalty Corners in First Half

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher trailed Randolph-Macon by just a goal at the start of the second half tonight before the Yellow Jackets tacked on two additional goals on the way to a 3-0 victory over the Gophers.

The Gophers (4-12) enjoyed an 8-5 advantage in shots — and an even bigger edge in penalty corners (9-5) —in the opening 35:00, but the Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to a goal by Kendall Lam at 18:15.

Just 2:23 into the second half, Randolph-Macon doubled its lead to 2-0 with a goal by Meredith Young. The final goal of the contest was scored by Jamie Shifrin at 56:55.

Since getting off to an 0-8 start, the Yellow Jackets (8-9) have won eight of their last nine games.
