Gophers Bow to Royals in Season's Final Game

McMullen Picks Up Assist on Goal by Boyce in 81st Minute

TOWSON, Md. — Adam Boyce (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and Tim McMullen (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) hooked up on the only goal Goucher was able to score today in a 3-1 Landmark Conference loss to Scranton.

The Royals (11-4-2, 4-2-1 Landmark) were already leading 3-0 when Boyce tallied his second goal of the season at 80:02. McMullen picked up his team-high fifth assist of the season on the play.

Scranton, which clinched a berth in the Landmark Conference postseason tournament with the win, was in front 1-0 at the half thanks to a goal by Michael Drew at 19:49. The Royals upped their advantage to 2-0 on a goal by Jeff Bochicchio at 59:50 and to 3-0 on a goal by Sebastian Akerman at 63:44.

It was the final game of the season for the Gophers (6-11-1, 0-7 Landmark), who were outshot 18-4.
