After four highly successful years with Goucher’s cross country and track teams, Katelynn Zidanic will remain with the program for her first season as a graduate assistant.

As an undergrad, Zidanic was a five-time all-conference performer. She placed in the top 10 at the Landmark cross country championships in each of her final three seasons, including an eighth place result during her junior year. Zidanic also had a career-best regional showing that year, finishing 59th in a field of 346 runners.

On the track, Zidanic was the Landmark runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as a sophomore, and she currently holds the top four school times in that event. Zidanic was additionally part of a Second-Team All-Landmark distance medley relay indoor squad in 2012.

Zidanic racked up several awards during her time as a Gopher. She was Goucher’s representative on the Landmark Women’s Cross Country All-Sportsmanship team in 2013, and she was presented with Goucher’s Student Leadership Award at the school’s senior awards ceremony this past spring. She was a team captain in 2013-14, and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a sophomore.

In the community, Zidanic has spent time interning at Back on My Feet, a non-profit organization in Baltimore that promotes the self-sufficiency of homeless people. She has also interned at Olivia’s House: a center for grieving children in York, Pa.

Zidanic graduated from Goucher with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is currently a graduate student in Goucher’s MA in Management program.
