Manta Eclipses Martin's School Record in Steeplechase

Browne Crosses Finish Line in 400-Meter Dash in :51.34

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Goucher's Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) broke the outdoor school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while competing today at the Greyhound Invitational.

Manta completed the event in 15th place with his time of 10:16.61, shaving 3.02 seconds off the former record Zachary Martin established back in March 2010.

Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) posted a time of :51.34 in the 400-meter dash, which allowed him to finish in 16th place. Still, only one individual in the history of Goucher's men's outdoor track and field program has ever run a faster 400 meters and that was Brian Gautier at the 2011 Goucher Classic (:49.85).
