Goucher's 4 x 100 Unit Breaks School Record
Martin Sets Stadium Record of 34:54.64 in 10KMay 5, 2007
TOWSON, MD — Goucher captured first place in three
individual events and one relay at today's Goucher
Invitational.
Zach Martin (Victor, NY/Victor Central) broke the
Gopher Stadium record with his winning time of 34:54.64 in the
10,000-meter run and the victorious unit of Jeffery
Whitaker (Prince Georges County, MD/The Barrie School),
Travis Boland (Athol, MA/Ralph C. Mahar),
Harrison Tucker (Clarksville, MD/Cairo American
College) and Brent Stanford (Columbia, MD/Long
Reach) set a new school record in the 4 x 100-meter relay
by completing the event in :44.35.
Goucher's remaining first-place performances in the non-scoring
meet came from Boalnd in the 400-meter dash and Matthew
Tilghman (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne's-Belfield) in the
800-meter run. Boland's winning time in the 400 was :54.49;
Tilghman completed the 800 in 2:13.18.
