CARLISLE, Pa. – The Goucher College men's cross country team competed at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invite on Saturday morning.
Senior Clay Berg (Pittsboro, N.C.) led Goucher with a time of 28:38.00, which is the best time at the event for the Gophers since the 2013 season. He was followed by junior Sean O'Flaherty (Hinsdale, Ill.) with a 30:46.30 finish.
Sophomore Jason Higginbotham (Brunswick, Maine) and first-year Paul Vasquez (Rockville, Md.) rounded out Goucher's scoring in the 8k event. Higginbotham placed 110 (81st) overall with a time of 31:24.40. Vasquez finished his first full race at Goucher with a time of 34:58.20.
Goucher finished 17th overall in the competition with a score of 210.
The Gophers are back at it again next week when they host the 2017 Goucher College Cross Country Classic on campus. The men's 8k race will begin at 10:30 a.m. while the women kick off a 6k race at 11:15 a.m.
