Gopher Lends 'Paw' to Red Shoe Shuffle 5K Run/Walk

Fundraising Event Exceeds Goal by Netting $250,000

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Gopher represented Goucher today at the Ronald McDonald House's Red Shoe Shuffle, which raised money to support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

More than 2,000 participants competed in the 5K run/walk, which started at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Baltimore. Runners looped around M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards before returning to the Ronald McDonald House.

The charity reported that over $250,000 was raised through this event, exceeding the original goal of $75,000. The money will go toward purchasing a much-needed shuttle to safely transport children and their families to five area partner hospitals.
