Goucher Takes Third Place in Long Jump, 4 x 400 Relay

Fourth-Place Performances: Newman-Blount in 100, Cooney in Shot

BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher had an individual and a relay place as high as third today at the inaugural Baltimore Metro Invitational, a non-scoring event hosted by Johns Hopkins.

The third-place performance in an individual event was courtesy of Dana Macaluso (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) in the long jump where she cleared 15-feet, 7-inches.

In the 4 x 400-meter relay, the Goucher entry of Caitlin Biggers (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Lakeland), Kanika Staten (Columbia, Md./Long Reach), Barb Koziel (Holland Twp., N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) and Macaluso placed third with its time of 4:40.09.

There were also a pair of fourth-place finishes: Sheba Newman-Blount (Lanham, Md./Bishop Ireton) in the 100-meter dash (:14.14) and Abby Cooney (Holden, Mass./Wachusett Regional) in the shot put (30-feet, 6.25-inches).
