LANCASTER, Pa. — Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) was credited with 17 kills — one of which was the 1,500th of her career — in leading Goucher to a 3-1 triumph over Lancaster Bible tonight. Set scores were 25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15.

Smith, Goucher's all-time leader with 1508 kills, also supplied the Gophers (14-11) with 18 digs and four blocks.

Ashley Fan (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, Calif./Laguna Blanca) backed up Smith's performance by posting nine and eight kills, respectively. Ditmore made only one hitting error in the match and finished with a .438 attack percentage.

Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) racked up 40 assists in the four-set match, making this the fifth time in 2009 that she's had 40 or more assists in a match.
