IWLCA Designates Goucher as 2009 Academic Squad
Distinction for Teams with Minimum Collective GPAs of 3.0

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association today designated Goucher and 61 other Division
III programs throughout the nation as Academic Squads for 2009.
The distinction of Academic Squad is bestowed on teams with collective GPAs of 3.0 or higher during the second semester of an academic year. Thirteen of the teams that qualfied for the NCAA Division III playoffs in 2009 earned Academic Squad recognition.
The three teams with the highest combined GPAs earn the
additional honor of being named a Merit Squad. For 2009, the IWLCA
Merit Squads in Division III were Vassar with a 3.474 collective
team GPA, Notre Dame (Md.) at 3.443 and Washington & Lee at
3.438.
