Taylor Cline Named Women’s Lacrosse Associate Head Coach

Goucher College women's lacrosse head coach Cat Thoresen has elevated former assistant coach Taylor Cline into the role of Associate Head Coach for the Gophers program, effective immediately.

Cline is no stranger to Goucher, as she served as the women's lacrosse teams assistant coach over the last two seasons while earning a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Athletic Leadership and Administration. In her time at Goucher, she has been in charge of the team's defensive duties as well as strength and conditioning.

"I am forever grateful to Head Coach Cat Thoreson for this amazing opportunity," said Cline. "Over the past two years, we've built a solid foundation for the program both on and off the field. I'm thrilled to be recognized in this manner and look forward to celebrating many successes in year three and beyond."

"I am so incredibly happy for Taylor," said Thorsen. "Not only to have her remain an integral part of our program but for her to receive the recognition and title of Associate Head Coach. She's been a tremendous asset these past two years and a big part of our forward progress. There's no one else I'd rather have beside me in this next chapter."

Cline came to Goucher two seasons ago from NCAA Division II member Limestone, where she was a three-year starter for the Saints, serving as a team captain in her senior season. She earned Conference Carolinas First-Team honors her junior and senior seasons and was also named to the South Region Second Team as well as a Third-Team All-American during her final year.

Over the course of her four years at Limestone, Cline scored 100 goals, dished out 20 assists, collected 78 ground balls and 49 draw controls. During her career, she helped the Saints to four regular-season Conference Carolinas championships, three tournament championships, an NCAA quarterfinal appearance, and an NCAA Championship appearance.

Cline graduated from Limestone in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in physical education, concentrating in strength and conditioning. She was named to the Conferences Carolinas' Academic Honor Roll in each of her final three years and earned the Scholar-Athlete award following her senior season.

A Hagerstown, Maryland native, Cline lettered in lacrosse, cross country, and indoor/outdoor track at Smithsburg High School. She was named the Herald-Mail Washington County Girl's Lacrosse Player of the Year her junior year and earned a silver medal at the Maryland State Track and Field Championships in the triple jump as a senior.
