Gophers Pin Crushing 9-0 Defeat on Bison

Pumilia, Bradley Combine to Score Seven Goals Again

September 4, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The same two players who combined to score seven goals in Goucher's season-opening 10-0 triumph over Wilson were at it again today in the Gophers' second game of the 2008 campaign. Sisley Pumilia (Chesterfield, N.H./Keene) tallied four goals and Erin Bradley (Framingham, Mass./Marian) added three of her own as head coach Tati Korba's squad dominated Gallaudet, 9-0.

It took the Gophers (2-0) only :25 to get on the scoreboard on a goal by Bradley that was set up by Pumilia. With Pumilia bunching all four of her goals into the first half, Goucher enjoyed a commanding 6-0 lead over the Bison (0-1) at the break.

McKenna Wilkinson (Keene, N.H./Keene) accounted for two of Goucher's three goals in the second half.

The Gophers finished with a 32-3 advantage in shots.

Goalkeeper Kellen Matthews (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) needed to make only two saves to earn her second shutout of the young season and fifth of the sophomore's career.
