Rangers Cash In Twice in Second Half, Defeat Gophers

Nine-Save Performance by Sophomore GK in 2-0 Setback

TOWSON, Md. – Goucher made it through the first half of today's Landmark Conference game against Drew without giving up a goal, but the Rangers netted a pair in the opening 13:00 of the second period and came away with a 2-0 triumph over the Gophers.

Starting goalkeeper Kellen Matthews (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) made saves on five of the seven shots Drew (8-5-3, 2-2-1 Landmark) got off in the first half. The sophomore turned away an additional four shots in the second half, but the Rangers still managed to grab a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Cailin McGrorry at 47:23.

Another unassisted goal by McGrorry at 57:59 made the score 2-0.

The Gophers (6-9-1, 0-5 Landmark) were limited to six shots the entire contest.
