Eagles Score One Time, Turn Back Gophers

Matthews Makes Five Saves, Lowers GAA to 1.88

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Goucher was limited to three shots today in its first Landmark Conference game of the season, a 1-0 loss to Juniata.

The only goal of the contest was scored by Sydney Masters at 32:25. Melissa Johnson was awarded an assist on the goal.

The Eagles (4-5, 1-0 Landmark) finished with 12 shots.

The Gophers (2-6, 0-1 Landmark) have held five of their eight opponents so far this season to two or fewer goals. Kellen Matthews (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional), who went the distance in goal for Goucher, made five saves and lowered her goals against average to 1.88.
