Tati Korba begins the 2009 season in her fifth year at the helm
of the Goucher College Women's Soccer program. Korba joined the
school’s coaching staff prior to the 2005 season and served
as head coach in a part-time capacity for two years. She is the
first full-time head coach in the program’s 18-year
history.
Korba began her coaching career in 2001 as the assistant coach at
Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. After one year as the
assistant, Korba was elevated to head coach in the 2002 season and
guided the Thoroughbreds to their first winning record in six
years. After leaving Skidmore in 2002, Korba spent two years as the
head soccer coach at The Madeira School in McLean, Va. and also
coached U-18 club soccer in Maryland. She was also an assistant
coach in the Maryland State Olympic Development Program for one
year.
Korba was a standout soccer player at her alma mater, Hobart and
William Smith colleges (N.Y.) where she graduated with a BA in
2000. She competed in the NCAA Division III Tournament all four
years of her career, including being a starting forward on the 1997
team that finished second in the country. Over her four-year
tenure, Korba collected numerous awards including all-conference,
all-state and NSCAA All-Region. After an impressive senior season
at William Smith, Korba was named an NSCAA All-American as well as
the New York State Player of the Year, and the UCAA Conference
Player of the Year.
During the summers of 2003 and 2004 Korba played in the semi-pro
WPSL as a member of the Maryland Pride. She then took over the
reign of head coach for the Pride in the summer of 2006 and served
in that capacity for one year.
Korba resides in Ellicott City, MD with her husband and two
daughters, Riley and Taylor.
