MADISON, N.J. - Sarah Keifer (Skillman, NJ/Montgomery), a four-year letterwinner on Goucher's women's swimming team, was selected as the 2007-08 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for her sport, according to an announcement issued today by the conference.

A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletic directors and sports information directors chose six athletes as Senior Scholar-Athletes, one for each of the winter sports sponsored by the first-year conference. The honorees had to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and were selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.

Keifer, a studio art major who has achieved a 3.40 GPA, helped the Gophers finish in third place at the inaugural Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships by placing third in the 1,650-yard freestyle and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.

In addition to spending a semester studying in Italy, Keifer has been actively involved in Goucher's theater program throughout her college career.
