SCRANTON, Pa. — Goucher earned 34 points on the final day of the 2014 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, boosting the Gophers' total to 164 points, good for eighth place in the team standings.
Eleven of the points picked up today were from two swimmers who made it into the consolation finals of an event: Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) in the 100-yard freestyle and Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) in the 200-yard backstroke. Craver, who claimed a spot in the championship finals by eight-hundredths of a second, finished in 11th place overall in the 100 free with her time of 55.81 seconds. Brower placed 12th in the 200 back, completing the event in 2:21.20.
Lillian Eden (Ipswich, Mass./Westover) secured one point for the Gophers by placing 16th in the 1650 free (19:38.05).
Goucher's entry consisting of Lizzy Hannifin (Denver, Colo./East), Brower, Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) and Craver placed eighth in the meet's final event, the 400 free relay. The combined time of the four swimmers was 3:56.82.
