TOWSON, Md. - Goucher volleyball (5-16, Landmark 0-4) lost Tuesday night to Gallaudet University 3 sets to 1 in a competitive match.
In the first set, the teams were tied 3 times through 14-14 when the Bison pulled away for a final 25-19 score. Goucher had some trouble with serve receive late that led to a final kill to end the set.
In the second set, the teams were knotted at 8-8 when Goucher made a run to lead 20-15 and eventually won the set 25-19 to tie the match 1-1 as the Gophers used a solid defense and a connected attack to put away the Bison. The third set saw Gallaudet take the lead after a 4-4 tie and steadily increase it throughout to win 25-10 and take 2 sets to 1 lead in the match. Serve receive issues again stopped Goucher from developing an attack.
