Young Finishes in 21:51, 63rd Place at Metro Meet
Biggers, Collette Compete in First Collegiate Cross Country Race

HUNT VALLEY, Md. – Three runners from Goucher competed in the Baltimore Metro Meet today at Oregon Ridge State Park – and two of them were running in the first cross country race of their collegiate careers.
The top performer of the trio was junior Kate Young (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) in 63rd place. She completed the 5,000-meter race in 21:51.
Freshmen Caitlin Biggers (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Lakeland) and Chiara Collette (Jakarta, Indonesia/Jakarta International School) crossed the finish line in 109th and 118th place, respectively. Biggers turned in a time of 25:39 and Collette was clocked at 27:46.
The individual champion was Katie Radzik from Binghamton. Her winning time was 18:03, which gave her a seven-second victory over Laura Paulsen from Johns Hopkins.
With only three runners in the race, Goucher did not receive a
team score.
