Shaw Completes Regionals in 25:40, 135th Place

All Three Goucher Runners Turn In Season-Best 6K Times

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – Goucher's Katie Shaw (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) finished in 135th place in a field of 305 runners today at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional.

The junior's time of 25:40 was the 50th fastest in the history of Goucher's women's cross country program for a 6,000-meter race.

Goucher had two other runns complete the race: junior Kate Young (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) in 198th place with a time of 26:53 and sophomore Hannah Southworth (Madbury, N.H./Oyster River) in 258th place (29:41).

For all three Goucher runners, today's time was a season-best for 6,000-meters.

Christa Johnson, a senior from Ursinus, was the individual champion. Her winning time was 22:01.

With only three runners, Goucher was not able to earn a team score. The team title went to Johns Hopkins with 80 points. Dickinson was 49 points back in second place and Messiah held on to third place with a team score of 174 points.
