Gophers Place Second Among Landmark Squads

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Goucher finished in fourth place — ahead of two of the other three Landmark Conference schools which competed — at the Catholic Invitational, which was conducted today on the grounds of the U.S. Soldiers' & Airmen's Home.

The Gophers earned a team score of 114 points, which placed them behind two Division I schools and Moravian, which took third place with 83 points. Juniata followed in fifth place with 129 points and Catholic in sixth with 141.

The team title went to American, which produced three of the top five finishers and a score of 31 points. The individual champion, Angela Ryck came from George Washington, which was runner-up in the team scoring with 42 points.

Ryck's winning time for the 6,000-meter race was 23:06.0.
