The year 2017 is in the books now but Goucher student-athletes were also into the books during the fall semester! Overall, twenty-two Goucher student-athletes recorded perfect 4.0-grade point averages, while Goucher's 21 athletic teams recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.18, marking the 11th straight semester Goucher student-athletes combined to record a grade point average above a 3.0.
Goucher's eight men's varsity teams registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.09, and seven teams posted team GPA's of at least 3.0. This marks the sixth time in the last 11 semesters dating back to the fall of 2012 that these teams have had a combined GPA of at least 3.0.
Leading the way on the men's side was the Track & Field team, who finished the Fall semester with a 3.24 GPA. Of note, the men's lacrosse program posted above a 3.0 GPA as a team for the second straight semester, climbing from a 2.84 GPA last fall to a 3.15 GPA in the fall of 2017.
For the 11 women's programs, the fall semester marked the 11th straight semester that they recorded an overall GPA of above a 3.0, coming in at 3.26. Leading the way on the women's side was the women's tennis team, who finished with a combined GPA of 3.66.
Rounding out the high team GPAs for the fall semester was the Equestrian team, Goucher's lone co-ed sport, who recorded a 3.5 team GPA.
