BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher College Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew Wu has announced the additions of Regina Bolin (Athletic Communications Coordinator), Ryan Price (Athletic Training Graduate Assistant) and Steven Thomas (Strength and Conditioning Coordinator) to the Gophers athletics staff.
"Regina, Ryan, and Steven are perfect hires for us," said Wu. "These positions are demanding and require an eagerness to develop as professionals on the job – we're fortunate to have such talented young professionals join us on staff and I can't wait to see the new ideas they bring."
Bolin, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, will work in the athletic communications office and assist with social media and the Gopher Sports Network while also learning all facets of the athletic communications field. Bolin served as an intern for the Kansas City Comets, a professional indoor soccer team. With the Comets, Bolin developed web content including press releases, game notes, statistics, media guides and player interviews. She also served as a Strategic Communications Intern for the University of Illinois Springfield, where she wrote feature stories and produced videos to help promote athletics.
Bolin was a four-year letterwinner on the University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team including serving as a team captain in her final three seasons. She was nominated for the 2015 Athletics Newcomer of the Year award and the 2017 Athletics Female Athlete of the Year. Bolin graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Illinois Springfield.
Price comes to Goucher after graduating from James Madison University in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. While at James Madison, Price assisted with the Dukes field hockey and cheerleading teams while also helping local Division III schools Bridgewater College of Virginia (men's lacrosse) and Eastern Mennonite University during his undergraduate work.
Price has been a CPR instructor in Richmond, Virginia, since 2016 and holds membership in the National Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association and the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association.
Thomas joins the Goucher staff from nearby Coppin State University, where he served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach since August and an intern from May to August of this year. While with the Eagles, Thomas worked with the men's and women's tennis, women's bowling and men's and women's track and field team where he designed and implemented a year-round strength and condition program.
A 2019 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Thomas, who participated in track and field for two years at both Coppin State and the University of Texas at San Antonio, was named the 2017 MEAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships Most Valuable Player. Thomas is certified in National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and the American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED and First Aid.
