GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - On Tuesday night the Gophers fell to 1-2 on the season after losing to the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins in a non-conference matchup during regulation.
The Griffins took the initial lead of the contest, and the Gophers couldn't recover the top spot despite having two high-scorers on the team.
Juniors Dwayne Morton and Gary Burley, Jr. led the team with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Morton went 1-4 in three-pointers and sunk six field goals. Burley went 6-6 from the field and put in one 3-pointer.
While the Gophers struggled to make big moves, they did go 11-11 from the line on free throws during the contest. After their first three matches this season, Goucher is average 68.7 points per game, already surpassing the 60.1 averaged during their 2017-18 season.
Goucher will be back in action on Friday, November 16 against Wittenberg at 3 PM at the Muhlenberg Classic in Allentown, Pa.
