Royals Pin 8-1 Landmark Setback on Gophers
Baum Drops First Set, Rallies to Win at No. 3 Singles

TOWSON, Md. - Steve Baum (Fallston, MD/Fallston) was the only singles player for Goucher to win his match today as the Gophers were handed an 8-1 Landmark Conference setback by Scranton.
Baum, a freshman competing at No. 3 for the Gophers (4-10, 2-5 Landmark) dropped the first set to Michael Killeen before rallying to win 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (4).
The only other Goucher player to win a set in singles play was freshman Billie Weiss (Lutherville, MD/Dulaney). He took the first set from Dan Parisi at No. 5 before Parisi came back to prevail 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (12-10).
At first singles, Scranton's Scott Melideo defeated Michael Brooks (Old Westbury, NY/Solomon Schechter) 6-2, 6-2.
The Royals (9-4-1, 5-1 Landmark) swept the three doubles matches.
