BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher College women's lacrosse head coach Sarah Goodson has named Kara Phoubandith an assistant coach.
"We are very excited to welcome Kara Phoubandith to our Goucher lacrosse family," said Goodson. "She brings a wealth of knowledge from her collegiate playing experience at Hood College, as well as her involvement with the Renegades Lacrosse Club. Kara was a clear choice in the hiring process and we are thrilled to have her!"
Phoubandith comes to Goucher after graduating from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland in 2019 and she was a four-year letterwinner on the Blazers women's lacrosse team. The Frederick native, posted 142 goals and 30 assists for 172 points in her four years to leave as the program's all-time career point leader and rank second in career goals. The two-time captain registered at least 37 goals in her final three seasons including a career-best 40 tallies in her sophomore campaign. In her senior year, she helped Hood set program records for wins, goals, assists, points and caused turnovers while she was named a MAC honorable mention in 2017.

She has served as the head coach of Renegade Lacrosse Club for the last four years. Phoubandith prepared practice and game plans, provided 1-on-1 training sessions and scheduled practices and scrimmage. She has also been the social media coordinator for the team for the last year. Phoubandith also worked with the Team Maryland Club in the spring of 2018.
Phoubandith will be persuing her Masters in Education with a concentration in Athletic Program Leadership at Goucher.
