SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher's Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) was runner-up in the 60-meter dash today at the Crusader Classic.
The sophomore was clocked at 8.12 seconds in the finals, 2-tenths of a second behind Jasmine Mitchell from Susquehanna. In the preliminaires, Smith posted a time of :08.04.
In the weight throw competition, Maafio Appiah-Padi (Edmonton, Alberta/Lewisburg Area) got off a throw of 11.91 meters (39'1"), good for 11th place overall.
Sara Aganovic (Pasadena, Md./McDonogh) took 11th place in the long jump and 12th in the triple jump. She achieved a distance of 4.69 meters (15'4 3/4") in the long jump and 9.98 meters (32'9") in the triple jump, which is the seventh-best performance in that event by a female in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program.
Goucher's entry of Katelynn Zidanic (York, Pa./Central York), Ellie Ginsberg (Ocean Twp., N.J./Ocean Twp.), Camille Jorgensen (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) and Kathryn Walker (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) placed eighth in the 4 x 800-meter relay with its time of 11:04.08.
