Goucher Athletics Unveils Redesigned Athletic Website

BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher College Athletics has unveiled a redesign to its athletic website (www.athletics.goucher.edu) in coordination with partner PrestoSports on Thursday at 1 p.m.

The redesigned website's new features include a recruit tab, a 10-story headline rotator, an interactive bar and player highlights. Fans can also click on the Goucher College logo to head directly to www.goucher.edu.

The top navigation tool is now broken into Teams, Recruits, Inside Athletics, Fan Zone and Blue and Gold. No longer are there two tabs for men's sports and women's sports, but one Sports tab that has all 21 intercollegiate athletic teams. The Recruits tab gives prospective student-athletes the links they would need to learn about Goucher College, apply for admission and financial aid information. The Inside Athletics, Fan Zone and Blue and Gold tabs have the same information as the previous design. 

The new 10-story rotator that replaces the old three-story rotator will allow for all previews and recaps to be featured during busy fall and spring weekends. To the right of each headline, the highlighted sport's next contest will be displayed. 

Below the headline is an interactive bar for fans to select Scoreboard, Social, Videos or News. The Scoreboard displays results and upcoming games. Fans can click on the left arrow to view past scores or the right arrow to view the upcoming schedule. Each contest will also display live stats, preview, recap and statistics icons at the bottom of each event if available. In addition, when fans are on the Scoreboard tab, they can click on Full Athletic Calendar on the right to see Goucher's composite schedule. When visiting team specific pages, fans will see that team's schedule only.

The Social tab displays all of Goucher Athletic's social media posts from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and You Tube. Fans have the option to select all of the Gophers social media outlets or view just one outlet's content by selecting the icon on the right side of the bar.

The Video tab displays the feature, season preview and season recap videos that Goucher Athletics produces and post on the Gophers athletic website. It can show 12 of the most current videos. To see a list of all Goucher Athletic videos, fans can select All Videos on the right.

The News tab features the last three stories that have rotated off of the headline rotator. The header will navigate to the news story when clicked. For a full list of stories, fans can click on News Archives on the right.

Below the interactive bar is a spot for player spotlights. Each season we will highlight one player for each sport during their playing season . Fans will also be able to click on that player's bio page or select Meet The Team to look at other student-athletes bios from the same team.

In addition, the responsive layout can seamlessly link the desktop, tablet and mobile versions of the website.
