Gabby Kopenski Named Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College head strength and conditioning coach Javin Dodd has named Gabby Kopenski to the newly-created position of strength and conditioning graduate assistant. Kopenski, a former Division I swimmer at Texas A&M, will assist Dodd in working with the Gophers' 21 varsity programs.
"Gabby is an accomplished athlete, competing for Team USA and at the Division I level at Texas A&M" said Dodd. "With her background she will be able to assist with our strength and conditioning program with instructional sports performance workouts and injury prevention measures. Gabby's eduational background in sports management will also be an asset to the program as we continue to meet the rising needs of our student-athletes. Her energy and passion will be a welcome addition to Goucher athletics."
Kopenski was a member of the Texas A&M swimming program from 2018-21 and was also a member of the U.S. Junior National Team in 2017-18. She placed third in the world in the 1500 meter freestyle competing for Team USA in Singapore. Kopenski is a four-time Texas 5A High School State Champion and a two-time Texas State Swimmer of the Year competing for Prosper High School.
Kopenski earned her Bachelor's in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 2022.
