SPORTS INFORMATION ASSISTANT
The Goucher College Sports Information Office is seeking
candidates for a part-time Sports Information Assistant for the
2009-2010 academic year.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for assigned sports. Responsibilities include writing press releases and feature stories; assisting with the production of media guides and game programs; recording in-game statistics; game-day management (announcing, etc.); and maintaining Goucher’s athletic website.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree; experience in sports information or public relations; strong writing, editing, and communication skills; attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines; and experience with statistical, layout, and design computer software. Familiarity with Stat Crew, Photoshop, and Quark X-Press is a plus.
The Sports Information Assistant is a 10-month position and is paid on a weekly basis for hours worked. Compensation is $10,300 and includes on-campus housing in a residence hall apartment with private bath. Position starts August 1. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.

Women’s Field Hockey Graduate Assistant
Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Women’s Field Hockey. Duties include working within NCAA, conference and departmental guidelines, aiding in the planning and organization of practices, recruiting tournaments and regional games, skill instruction, and scouting opponents. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3.0 GPA as an undergraduate, demonstrated success in playing or coaching at the college, or club level, and excellent communication skills. Position includes full graduate school tuition for the Masters of Education program.
