Dear Prospective Goucher Gopher,

I am extremely excited that you are interested in Goucher College and our field hockey program. I have created this page to help you get a better understanding of my expectations. I have developed my coaching philosophy from over 30 years of coaching and playing the game that you and I both love. Through consultation with my team we have established a set of team expectations which take into consideration the individual needs of each student. To help smooth the process of becoming a student-athlete at Goucher, I have also provided you with some guidelines which I hope you will find helpful. So that I can learn more about you, please complete and submit the online questionnaire.

I am proud to say that the rebuilding of the field hockey program continues to move in a forward direction since my arrive at Goucher in 2006. We now have a healthy sized roster of committed women. The team has become very competitive and now challenges all of our opponents each time we play. The core strength of the team has been retained and is a year more experienced. We also have the added bonus of having played and practiced for a year on our new turf field.

We graduated 3 seniors from our 2009 squad. Since all 3 were starters, there will be a lot of competition for starting spots. Our incoming class of 2010 will need to come in ready to challenge the returning players for these positions. With 6 seniors on the roster for 2010, I will be looking to bring in a big, talented class in 2011.

I regularly attend recruiting events and showcases across the east coast during winter, spring and summer. I also attend the National Hockey Festival over Thanksgiving break. During the summers I run my own Nike sponsored camp at Goucher College. In 2010 this camp runs from July 25 to July 28. You can see where I will be throughout the year by looking at my recruiting calendar. Check back periodically for updates as I find more events to attend.
