Katie Trainor
Head Coach
410-337-6574

Katie Trainor joined Goucher's coaching staff prior to the 2005 season as an assistant to a newly hired head women's lacrosse coach.

When that coach left after just one season, Trainor was elevated to head coach of the Gophers and is now into her third season in that position.

In her first season as head coach, Trainor guided the Gophers to nine victories, which was widely regarded as a significant achievement considering the rigorous schedule her team went up against.

Eight more wins followed in 2007. And in both seasons, Trainor escorted the Gophers into the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference playoffs.

Under Trainor's direction, Goucher's 2007 squad ranked among the top 60 Division III teams in the nation in the following categories: 51st in scoring offense (12.51 goals per game), 20th in draw controls (13.94 per game) and 54th in ground balls (22.25 per game).

Prior to accepting the offer to be an assistant coach at Goucher, Trainor served in a similar position at the College of the Holy Cross for one season. Her duties there included the recruitment of Division I student-athletes and scouting.

Trainor was an exceptional lacrosse player at Colby College, finishing among the Division III national leaders in caused turnovers and earning second-team All-America honors as a senior. At the time she graduated from there in 2003, she held the school records for most caused turnovers in a season and in a career.
