TOWSON, MD – Senior Chris Outing and junior Briana Bull have been named the Goucher College Athletes of the Week following their performances in Landmark Conference play.
Outing scored a career-high 26 points against Moravian College while nabbing seven rebounds and three assists. His previous personal best occurred over two years ago when he scored 25 points against Drew (12/6/14). On Saturday, he followed up his record-breaking performance with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a 64-60 loss against Drew. The Gophers currently sit at 4-15 on the season and 1-7 in conference play.
Outing and the men’s basketball team return to the court on Wednesday they travel to Washington, DC to take on Catholic University at 7PM.
On the women’s side, Bull not only put on two stellar performances during the week but surpassed multiple milestones. The most prominent of those milestones came on Wednesday when the junior guard scored her ninth point against Moravian in the first half to surpass 1,000 career points at Goucher. She went on to score 20 more points throughout the game and moved into 10th place in all-time scoring at Goucher College. She currently has 1,039 career points; only 18 points behind Amber Smith (’10) with 1,057.
In the game against Drew on Saturday, Bull scored 19 more points and dished out five assists while nabbing three steals. Her five assists helped her to pass 200 in her career (204). By accumulating three steals in the game, she passed 200 in the category and tied Maren Hill (’03) for fifth in all-time steals at Goucher College (201).
During the two games, she averaged 24.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists. Bull and the women’s basketball team remain at home on Wednesday when they take on Landmark opponent, Catholic at 7PM.
