TOWSON, MD – Sophomore Lauren Pirrung of women’s lacrosse and junior Michael Koropsak of men’s lacrosse have been named the Goucher College Athletes of the Week.
Pirrung earned athlete of the week honors for her performances against Hood College in Randolph-Macon. Over the course of the two games, the defender from New Windsor, MD accumulated six groundballs, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Pirrung and the Goucher College women’s lacrosse team (0-6, Landmark 0-0) return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Centre College to take on the Colonels at 5:30PM.
Koropsak is being honored for his performance against Messiah College where the Gophers (2-3, Landmark 0-0) came home with a 12-6 loss. However, the defenseman from Wayne, NJ played outstanding, amassing four caused turnovers and a groundball in the game.
He was also part of a defensive unit that allowed zero goals on five man-down situations. At one point during the game, the Gophers were down three men and refused to allow the Falcons to find the twine.
Koropsak and the men’s lacrosse team return to action today at 3PM to take on the College of Wooster Fighting Scots at home.
