TOWSON, MD – First-year track & field athlete, Ogemdi Chukwu (Paris, France) has been named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week following his performance at the 16th Annual Goucher Track & Field Classic held in Towson, MD on Saturday.
Chukwu is being honored for winning the 110m hurdles during the teams’ only home meet of the season. The freshman from Paris, France ran a time of 15.56 during the preliminaries – setting a new Goucher College record in the event. Unsatisfied with simply breaking the record once, Chukwu returned to the finals to break the record again with a time of 15.55 seconds.
During his first indoor season at Goucher, Chukwu also broke the school records in the 60m hurdles (8.66) and 55m hurdles (8.20).
