Greg Royce Steps Down as Assistant AD for Communications and Operations

TOWSON, Md. - Greg Royce, currently Goucher's Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Operations, announced that he will be stepping down from that role effective Tuesday, December 31.  He has accepted a professional opportunity in intercollegiate athletics that will be officially announced next week.

"I want to thank everyone at Goucher for the past three-plus years and allowing me to continue to grow as a professional," said Royce, who came to Goucher as the Director of Athletic Communications in September, 2021 and was promoted to Assistant AD in February, 2024.  "I have truly enjoyed working with Goucher's coaches, staff and student-athletes who have made coming to work every day a pleasure."

"I am proud of what we have been able to build in athletic communications during my tenure and want to thank our student staff, our current graduate assistants Riley Holmes and Mckenna Bruce as well as former GA Will Kelly for all they have done to help promote Gopher athletics."

"We could not be any more appreciative of the job Greg did for the Gophers," said Goucher Interim Director of Athletics Bryan Laut. "He is an amazing pro and brought our teams and athletes to life and ensured they had a great experience at Goucher."

During his tenure at Goucher, Royce oversaw the transition to FloSports as part of the Landmark Conference's agreement with the streaming provider starting in 2023, with event productions elevated to include professional play-by-play broadcasters for most events.  He served as the chair of the Landmark Conference athletic communications committee the past two years.
 
The President of the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) in 2021-22, Royce was honored by that organization with the Irving T. Marsh Award in June, 2024 for excellence in the field of collegiate athletic communications.
