Equestrian Keeps Rolling to Zones Following Regional Championships
GAITHERSBURG, MD –  After Regionals this weekend at the Other Left Stables in Gaithersburg, MD, the Goucher College equestrian team will head to the Zone Finals next week both as a team and with individuals.

The Gophers will compete next week at the Zone Championships held at St. Andrew University in Laurinsburg, NC. Two Goucher riders won their classes in addition to the team winning the region. 
Goucher's Top Performances:
-Junior Cary Hundley (Ellicott City, MD) was Regional Champion in the Open Flat division. She will also advance to Zones in Individual Open Fences.  Hundley also qualified for the Cacchione Cup class where she will compete against the High Point Riders from Region II, III, IV, and V.
-Senior Sarah Lummis (Westminster, MD) won her division, becoming the Zone IV Region I Champion in Walk Trot Canter, sealing her way to Zones. She surpassed 17 other riders in her class to earn one of the two berths to Zone Championships.
-Senior Alison Radgowski (Northport, NY) placed fifth in the intermediate flat. 
-Junior Clea Lerner (Los Angeles, CA) also took fifth in the novice fences for Goucher.
Up Next:

Goucher has a weekend off, then will travel to St. Andrews for Zone Finals on April 7-8. As Zone IV Region I Champions, Goucher will also advance as a team, to compete against the four other Regional Champion teams in Zone 4.  One rider will be chosen to compete in each team class.  The following riders will compete next week:
Hundley – Open Flat Individual, Open Fences Individual, Cacchione Cup Class, Team Open Flat, Team Open Fences
Lummis – Walk Trot Canter Individual, Team Intermediate Flat
Radgowski – Team Intermediate Fences
Lerner – Team Novice Flat
First-year Rena DiPaula (Westminster, MD) – Team Novice Fences
Sophomore Wren Wakeman (Addison, ME) – Team Walk Trot Canter
Junior Rachel Brannock (Baltimore, MD) – Team Walk Trot
