Equestrian Takes First in Third Straight Show

BURTONSVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team took home High Point Team honors for the third straight IHSA show to open the season as it competed at the American University show at Spring Hill Stables on Saturday.  The University of Maryland was the Reserve High Point Team on the day.

Hope Verschleiser earned High Point Rider honors as she placed first in Open Fences and second in Intermediate Flat.  It marked the second time this season the first year collegiate rider has earned High Point honors.

Jacob Connell finished second in Intermediate Fences and was fifth in Open Flat.  Jocelyn Harris took first in Limit Fences and third in Limit Flat.

Zoe Wright-Riley placed first in Limit Fences, with Estella Smith taking down first in Limit Flat.  Quinn Kirkpatrick placed first in Novice Flat.

Sues Hardee turned in a third place performance in Limit Flat, while Isabelle Butts was sixth in Novice Flat. Max Davis was first in Intro Flat.

Goucher returns to Spring Hill Stables next Saturday as American serves as host for the second straight week.
