Goucher Advances to Nationals with Reserve Champion Finish
BALTIMORE, MD - The Goucher College Gophers hosted the Zone IV Championships, where they earned reserve champion honors. This came after earning 37 points, edging out the third-place team by one point. Earning reserve champions, allowed them to advance to nationals in May.
The competition opened with Hope Verschleiser securing a first-place finish in open fences and a second-place finish in open flat. The Gophers added another first-place finish as Cameron Andruskiewicz won the limit flat category and earned a podium finish in limit fences. Adriana Hardin rounded out fences after placing third in intermediate fences and fourth in intermediate flat. In the introductory category, Celeste Huertas finished third. With the final event of the championships, Eleanor Tabke placed fifth in novice.
The Gophers return to action on Thursday, April 9th, when they travel to compete at the ANRC National Championship.
