Goucher Equestrian Announces Slate for the 2026-27 Season
BALTIMORE, MD – Goucher College Athletics and Director of Equestrian, Jen Smith, has announced the 2026-27 equestrian schedule, highlighted by a balanced slate of IHSA competitions, invitationals, championship meets, and the return of the Blue & Gold Scrimmage.
The Gophers begin the campaign on September 21, with the annual Blue & Gold Scrimmage, giving the team its first opportunity to compete in front of family, friends, and supporters before opening intercollegiate competition. This will also feature a clinic with 2026 Hall of Fame inductee, Karli Postel
Goucher officially opens the IHSA season on September 26, at the Preseason Classic, before hosting its first home IHSA show of the season on October 3. The fall schedule also features trips to American University on October 25 and the University of Maryland on November 22, while the Gophers will welcome teams back to campus for another home IHSA show on November 14.
Goucher resumes competition with appearances at the Holiday Classic on December 5 and the Winter Classic on January 30, continuing preparations for the championship portion of the season.
The spring schedule includes another home IHSA show on February 27 before the team hosts the Blue & Gold Scrimmage on March 5. Goucher will then compete at the University of Maryland IHSA Show on March 7, leading into postseason competition.
Championship season begins with the Zone IV Region I Finals on March 21, followed by the Zone IV Championships on April 3. Qualifying riders will then have the opportunity to advance to the ANRC National Championships, which will be announced at a later date, before looking to conclude the season by returning to the IHSA National Championships, scheduled for May 7-9.
This season comes after the Gophers finished 8th in the National after a sucessful 2025-26 campagin.
