Scoring Opportunities Pass Gophers By in First HalfOctober 25, 2006
BRYN MAWR, PA — Goucher limited Bryn Mawr to 10
shots today — the fewest any opponent has managed against the
Gophers the entire season — and yet head coach Warren
Prestwich's squad still couldn't celebrate a win. The Owls (3-14)
were the ones doing the rejoicing following their 1-0
non-conference victory.
Anna Strewler's unassisted goal at 47:57 of the second half which
followed a scramble for a loose ball stood up as the only goal of
the contest.
The Gophers (1-13) had two opportunities to take the lead in the
first half. Goalie Rachel Brady of the Owls made her one and only
save on a shot by Kelsey Havens (Catonsville,
MD/Catonsville) approximately 15 minutes into the game and
with just over 13 minutes remaining before halftime, a shot by
Alyssa Rittenburg (Burlington, MA/Burlington) hit
the post.
