Sept. 29, 2007

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Goucher went into today's game at Susquehanna tied with Juniata for first place in the Landmark Conference. The 9-0 loss the Gophers suffered to the Crusaders knocked head coach Warren Prestwich's team into a five-way tie for second place.

The Crusaders (5-6, 1-1 Landmark) enjoyed a 2-0 advantage less than five minutes into the contest thanks to goals by Janelle Anthony and Andrea Fiori. Anthony scored two more times and Katie Connors and Megan Sites both added a goal apiece before the first half concluded, boosting Susquehanna's lead to 6-0.

In the second half, Fiori tallied her second goal of the game with 14:34 remaining to put the Crusaders ahead 7-0. Darcey Peterson and Julia Amendola tacked on goals in the final 6:15.

The main highlight for Goucher (1-6, 1-1 Landmark) is that sophomore goalie Aline Haddad (Bangor, PA/Bangor) established a Landmark Conference single-game record with her 28-save performance.
