Oct. 3, 2007
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Goucher began a string of four consecutive Landmark Conference games with an inspiring 1-0 victory over Drew. But head coach Warren Prestwich's squad dropped its second straight contest against a conference opponent today when Catholic pinned a 5-0 defeat on the Gophers.
Catholic (5-5, 2-0 Landmark) out-shot Goucher, 10-2, in the first half, but led only 2-0 at the break. The first goal was unassisted and scored by Michele Repass just 8:07 into the contest; Emily Larsen set up a goal by Meredith Chandler with 5:53 remaining before halftime.
A penalty stroke taken by Abby Banholzer produced one of the Cardinals' three goals in the second half.
Aline Haddad (Bangor, PA/Bangor) went the distance in goal for the Gophers (1-7, 1-2 Landmark), making 10 saves.
