Gophers Bow to Two-Time Defending Champs, 5-1

The goal was the junior midfielder's team-leading fifth of the season and was assisted by Katie Gallagher (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional).
The Eagles (7-2, 1-0 Landmark) led 3-0 at the end of the first half. Shauna Deschenes opened the scoring at 10:43 and Paula Price tallied goals at 25:15 and 33:20.
Caitlyn Bowman (39:17) and Kim Amrod (40:07) notched goals in the second half before the Gophers (4-5, 0-1 Landmark) were able to get off their first shot of the contest. For the second game in a row, a reserve goalie also made a save on a penalty stroke awarded to Goucher.
